We're not really haters. In fact we're pretty supportive of most things and are generally pretty positive. But deadset how shit is Ed Hardy?!

On the weekend I was on the Gold Coast and had the displeasure of seeing a dude rocking an Ed Hardy tee, Von Dutch jeans and Crocs. I shit you not. I was this close to ripping my eyeballs out of my skull to stop the pain.

Apparently we're not the only ones who feel this way, with Dirt Nasty (of the Mickey Avalon crew) recently releasing a new track, aptly titled 'Fuck Ed Hardy'. Brilliant.

And for all those playing at home - the road trip was rad and we'll be adding a bunch of wicked stores to our stockist list very soon. Stay tuned.

We're bailing town today to go to Splendour in the Grass in Byron Bay this weekend and then cruise further north to visit a bunch of stores in Queensland. So pumped!!

It means we probs won't be able to update this for a couple of weeks...sorry. But if you all behave we might come back with a whole lot of pretty pictures.

For all you fashion-forward Queenslanders that have been screaming at us to get up there, not much longer now. We've received a stack of emails asking where our banana-bending brethren can find our stuff north of the border. We'll hit you with the deets asap.

The Strokes working on new album

It's been a while since we've heard anything from the Strokes, but rumour has it they could release a new long-player by the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

Here is the amazing clip of the Strokes stomping up a storm in a septic tank to the sweet sounds of their seraphic song 'You Only Live Once'.

(My Year-1 teacher Mr Whiteman would be proud of the alliteration in that last sentence).

Sydney Street Style

So we went adventuring the other day trying to capture some of the style on Sydney's streets. We're going to be doing this more often to see if we can document the emergence (and death) of various trends. It's also an excuse to look at pretty people.

The main lesson that came out of the first installment is that guys are all over the girls when it comes to fashion at the moment. We would have expected the opposite but we saw about three stylish dudes for every one trendy lolita. Lift your game ladies.

Over the last 30 years ubiquitous NY personality Clayton Patterson has documented the evolution of life in the city's Lower East Side through its colourful subcultures of yesterday to its modern-day gentrification. Originally from Canada, Clayton came to NY in the late '70s to be an artist. He obviously had an immediate fascination with the neighbourhood's melting pot of artists, junkies, the homeless and 'revolutionary minds' brewing out of the Lower East Side and began to shoot both still and video the daily happenings of the area.

He officially made a name for himself in the late '80s when he captured over three hours of footage during the police riots in Tompkins Square (which ended up being used as evidence and indicting six cops) and suddenly everyone from Oprah to CNN wanted a piece. His craft and in particular his documentation of police brutality has seen him arrested and roughed up by local law enforcement on multiple occasions. Over the years he has amassed an enormous archive of apparently 4000 hours of 8mm and half-inch film and 750,000 colour photographs of people and events in the area.

Re-watching 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' recently has rekindled our love for all things Michel Gondry. It's not surprising the movie is so amazing, being the brainchild of two of the most remarkable creative geniuses of our time in Gondry and Charlie Kaufman.

While we can't post the whole movie on here, we do thoroughly recommend you go and see it if you haven't already.

We still wanted to give you a taste of Gondry though, so here is the 2004 film clip for Michael Andrews and Gary Jules' cover of Tears for Fears haunting ballad 'Mad World'. Directed by the man himself, the beautiful simplicity of the video is quintessential Gondry.

Gondry was also responsible for Daft Punk's legendary 'Around The World' film clip. Brilliant.
